I can’t stand you

I don’t know how to make you go away

I ignored you until I thought you were gone

But then

I heard your murderous shocking whisper

After the gasp, I ignored you again

But now I now you there

Lurking in the corner

I disregard you

But it infuriates you

You keep getting louder

I’m not even shocked by your words anymore

I’m almost comfortable with you

I don’t want to be

If I engage you

I’m afraid that

Rather than send you away

I’ll begin enjoying you

And listening

Like before

You don’t listen to me

How do I stop listening to you

Broken Mask

It is exhausting to keep the mask on

Always hiding the truth for everyone else’s comfort

I’m fine, thanks, I’m good Ha ha

The mask slipped.

Now it is as broken as I am.

I desperately need a new one.

People say they want transparency and truth

But give it to them and it becomes clear

That wanting the truth is a lie.

Now the truth is out there

I am left alone, ashamed, and desperately trying to figure out how to get a new mask.
