You are the God of Amen
Faithful and True
May I be Your steadfast witness
You are the God Who Sees Me
Who knows me and thinks of me
May I know You O Lord
You are my All Sufficient God
Perfect and Complete
May I walk lacking nothing
You are the Living and Resurrected Lord
Who died and rose again.
May I live as a new creation in You
You are the God Who Sanctifies
Holy and Exalted
May I stand out as Your chosen holy child
You are my Benevolent and Loving Father
Who gives good gifts to His children
May I exhibit your nature
You are the God of Peace
Who sustains me
May I thank you in every circumstance
You are the All Powerful God
For Whom nothing is impossible
May I do all things through You
You are the God of Love
Who gave Yourself to the world
May I love as You do.

Psalm of Salvation

The trumpet sounds long and loud

The Horn of Salvation descends on a cloud

The ones called righteous lifted up

Joining the Bridegroom in splendid sup

The lost thrown down into fire

Joining the defeated chief liar

What part to play in finding them

What part to take in guiding them

Pointing them from dark to light

Guiding them to peace from fight

We are the glory of the Lord

We are the vessels of the Word

As He the Most High exalts

So He forgives all faults

To Him be all praise and glory

We live to reveal His story

Overcome by God

Submerged in the Living Water

Succumbing to His death

for my life

Rising to His Resurrection

A new creation

A new life

No more hate

It is finished

No more condemnation

No more darkness

No more fighting

No more toiling

It is finished

No more sin

No more Satan

It is finished

Collective State of Mind

The crowd that shouted “Hosanna in the highest!”

and waved palms on that Sunday long ago,

was the same mob that only days later cried out, “Crucify Him!”

The crowd so easily becomes the mob.

The passion of the throng so effortlessly becomes

the furor of the horde.

Emotion is not meant to lead.

Masses are not intended to direct.

Following feelings and pursuing the pack

leads to saturnalia, lynching,

and being one of many.

There is no I Am in the hive.

Seeking freedom but choosing chains

Invisible but heavy shackles restrain

Proclaiming pride

Swears she’s standing tall

Refusing to acquiesce

Bent over by the heaviness

Oppressed by desire turned need

Eyes and ears closed

Submitting to all that promises liberty

Enslaved to choice after choice

Open your eyes

Unseal your ears

Sense seems nonsense

The actuality is topsy-turvy

The truth will set you free

His yoke is not a burden

Bend a knee

Bow down to the King of kings

Stand in Him

Walk without fetter

Run without chains

Slave to the world no more

In service to the King of kings

Not by works...

Mother Teresa said, “At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done.
We will be judged by "I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.”

At first I loved this quote, I was all over it. But then I realized that although it is a good thought and nice encouragement to love one another as Jesus loves us, it isn’t true. We will not be judged by our good works, or even by our faith. We will be judged by whether or not we are covered in Jesus’ blood. If we are then it should show in our faith and our faith should be manifested in good works, and Jesus should be revealed to the world in our love. But we will be judged simply by whether or not our names are written in the Book of Life.

You can’t be good enough. You can’t do enough good to earn heaven. Only Jesus can give you that.

This is a small list of the one another commands in God’s word:

Love one another (John 13:34, John 13:35, John 15:12, John 15:17, 1 Peter 4:8)

Encourage one another (Hebrews 10:25)

Pray for one another (James 5:16)

Be at peace with one another (Mark 9:50 1 Peter 3:8)

Wash one another’s feet.  (John 13:14)

Be kind and compassionate to one another (Ephesians 4:32)

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love (Romans 12:10)

Honor one another (Romans 12:10)

Instruct one another (Romans 15:14, Colossians 3:16)

Serve one another (Galatians 5:13)

Be patient to one another (Ephesians 4:2)

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. (Ephesians 5:21)

Forgive one another. (Colossians 3:13)

Confess your sins to one another (James 5:16)

Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. (Ephesians 5:19)

We have to have others in our lives in order to fulfill the law of Christ. Christianity is not meant to be a lone-wolf experience.

A PSALM OF PRAISE OF GRATITUDE

By Robert Gordon

Father God in the highest of the heavens holy is your name, and holy you are here we are on this earth as daughters and sons of God. You put all things in their place, all the things you've made, were made through Christ my Savior. And all things hold together by the word of his power.

As I reflect on your goodness, on your mercy, on your love, on your grace, I feel indebted to you for the rest of my life because of how good you are to us. For everything that you have already done for us we should be eternally grateful but you don't stop there and you continue to work and to mold us, and to bless us, and to love us, and to grow us to be more and more like your Son. You also give your Spirit without measure, you give good gifts to your children all of the time, you lavish us with your love through your Holy Spirit.

Who are we to deserve such mercy and grace from the all-powerful God and Creator of the world? Who are we to deserve such attention in our finiteness?  Who are we to deserve such a sacrifice to be made by your Son on the cross who took our shame and took our sin and paid the price for all of those who confess him as their Lord and Savior? Who are we to petition things from you who has already given everything, including his one and only son already, who are we to ask for anymore? But only a God as good as our Father who continues to hear our prayers and to take our requests.  But one thing we do is to make sure that we give you praise, and adoration, and honor, and glory that is due to your holy name Father God we lift up our hands and we close our eyes and we lift up our souls to you God because you are good. You are more than good, you are great. And you are more than great you are superbly awesome God. And we love you. Amen.

There is a difference between listening to your heart and listening to the Spirit. It is a mark of maturity to understand the distinction. The more like Christ one becomes, the more the two will mesh. Photo taken by Lani Campbell at Hudson Beach Florida
There is a difference between listening to your heart and listening to the Spirit. It is a mark of maturity to understand the distinction. The more like Christ one becomes, the more the two will mesh.
Your heart may tell you to fear but the Spirit tells you to be courageous and bold. Your heart may tell you to criticize but the Spirit tells you, "Do not Judge the world" and "There is no condemnation in Christ."

Poetry by Donna Campbell. Over the years, I've written poetry as I have suffered, grown, and learned. Some may seem negative but it was the way I felt in the moment.
Additionally I will often share something I have worked on, or just have some thoughts I write down in essay form or even a rant. I look forward to the conversation we might have.
