I opened up the darkest parts of me

I bared the ugliest secrets.

I was terrified of your reaction.

Afraid you would hate me.

Yet,

You looked at me through true love’s eyes.

There was nothing ugly to see.

It was washed away, removed and gone.

Forgiven.

I opened up the darkest parts of me

And there was light and beauty

Light and beauty

Shining out from the place that had once been dark

There was made a way

For my neighbor, my friend, and my brother,

To bare themselves.

The Light shone through them too.

He changed every dark and ugly part opened to Him

To light and beauty.
