I truly hope you will read it! It will have you cheering, praising God and crying tears of pure joy. Yesterday we read about the wrath of The Lord on unbelievers. Today we read about the promise of rest and Zion He has for His followers. Wow! It is awesome.
Where desert once was, will be lush majestic forests with springs and rivers. (Verses 1-2). Then Our Lord turns to us, He tells us we have nothing to fear because He is coming to save us. His vengeance isn’t for us but for those who denied Him. And He does save us, He already has! With His Salvation and comes a perfect restoration and healing. Whatever flaws we have now and whatever deficits will be made new, whole and perfect. We will never be in need again. Verses 5-7 read,
“Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
and the ears of the deaf unstopped;
6 then shall the lame man leap like a deer,
and the tongue of the mute sing for joy.
For waters break forth in the wilderness,
and streams in the desert;
7 the burning sand shall become a pool,
and the thirsty ground springs of water;
in the haunt of jackals, where they lie down,
the grass shall become reeds and rushes.”
It is not for everyone. Although everyone was offered God’s grace only some have accepted it and that hope belongs to us. Verse 8 reads,
“And a highway shall be there,
and it shall be called the Way of Holiness;
the unclean shall not pass over it.
It shall belong to those who walk on the way;
even if they are fools, they shall not go astray”
Verse 10 reads,
“And the ransomed of the Lord shall return
and come to Zion with singing;
everlasting joy shall be upon their heads;
they shall obtain gladness and joy,
and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”
I encourage you to read the entire chapter it is only 10 verses long and it is so encouraging. Remember even in your worst times, this is a description of your future. It will not be temporary like our lives on this earth but forever. Take joy in that. Take strength from it. God loves you so very much, He sent His one and only Son to pay the price for you so that you could have a relationship with Him and spend eternity with Him in a paradise made for you.
