When you imagine God thinking about you, how do you envision His face? Do you picture Him with a stern look? Do you imagine Him with a disappointed scowl? Believer, that is not the case. His love for you is perfect and so much more than you can grasp. We do not understand the complete purity of His perfect love yet, because we are not yet perfected but God always was and always is perfect. Verses 3-4 read,
“You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,
and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
4 You shall no more be termed Forsaken,
and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,
but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,
and your land Married;
for the Lord delights in you,
and your land shall be married.”
That is you, He is talking about. You are like the royal jewels to God, precious, beautiful, and priceless. He doesn’t call you Desolate or Forsaken. You are covered in Jesus’ righteousness. Now He calls you My Delight. You give Him pleasure. When He thinks of you, He smiles, He laughs, and He is pleased.
No one can take away your rewards, God’s promises, or protection. No one. He is be vigilant about keeping you safe and provided for. He is staunch about ensuring you receive the rewards He has put aside for you. Verses 8-9 read,
“The Lord has sworn by his right hand
and by his mighty arm:
“I will not again give your grain
to be food for your enemies,
and foreigners shall not drink your wine
for which you have labored;
9 but those who garner it shall eat it
and praise the Lord,
and those who gather it shall drink it
in the courts of my sanctuary.”
God adores you. He rejoices over you the way a bridegroom rejoices over His bride. (Verse 2). That is not a stoic or reserved good feeling. That is ‘can’t keep it inside’ elation, jubilation, and glee. The chapter ends with an announcement of Jesus ushering in your eternal reward. Verses 11-12 read,
“Behold, the Lord has proclaimed
to the end of the earth:
Say to the daughter of Zion,
“Behold, your salvation comes;
behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.”
12 And they shall be called The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the Lord;
and you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.”
You are redeemed and you are holy. He sought you out. He will never forsake you. Celebrate God’s deep love for you. Enjoy His fathomless exultation over you. Praise Him. Thank Him. Glorify Him.
